 "Ulysses of Dreams Come True Farm"

  When we imported Wietske from the Netherlands in 2005, she was in foal to Ait 410. That big healthy colt was born March 8, 2006 at 11:15 pm, 3 days after Wietske started waxing up and dripping milk. Thomas and I were both there to watch and help if necessary. Since this was her 3rd foal, she knew the routine and foaled quickly. My excitement was hard to contain as this was our first Friesian foal!
    Ulysses is registered with both FHANA [the Friesian Horse Association of North America] and the Dutch FPS [Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (Friesian studbook)], which is the world-wide authority on the Friesian horse and recognized as the European Mother Studbook of the Friesian Horse. His dam, a very kind, friendly mare and excellent mother, Wietske Janke V [199925360] was sired by Ritse and is a "ster" Friesian mare.
    Ulysses has always been very curious and extremely friendly. He has been regularly handled since day 1 and has been halter broken to lead since he was 3 weeks old. Since he was 1 month old, I have been able to lead his mother with one hand and him with the other in and out to pasture. I can groom him and lift all 4 feet without holding/tying him. At age 7 weeks he started getting into our step up horse trailer, which is parked adjacent to his paddock.
    September 2006 he was keured at Leesburg, VA, where he was the best turned out and best behaved colt there! See those photos.
    He was gelded in April 2007, bathes, clips, loads, cross ties, and is well behaved for both farrier and vet. At 13 months he stood 14.2hh, so he is going to be taller than most Friesians.
