     Foaled April 5, 2010 @ 1:15 AM, this healthy, elegant FHANA/FPS registered colt by Iron Spring Farm's Erik and out or our sweet ster mare, Wietske Janke V, has made us count our blessings--yet another safe birthing. He has been sold to Jessica, Chambersburg, PA, and has stolen her heart! Hercules will attend the 2010 FHANA/FPS keuring in Lexington, VA on October 4, 2010.
     In 2009 we bred our ster mare, Wietske Janke V, to Iron Spring Farm's Friesian stallion, Erik, who is approved on offspring. This  healthy 2010 colt is Wietske's seventh foal, so she knew the routine and foaled in 10 minutes. I knew she was carrying a colt this year, so didn't even try pink socks, and just used blue socks for braiding Wietske's mane and tail.
    Hercules is registered with both FHANA [the Friesian Horse Association of North America] and the Dutch FPS [Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (Friesian studbook)], which is the world-wide authority on the Friesian horse and recognized as the European Mother Studbook of the Friesian Horse. Her dam, a very kind, sweet, friendly mare and excellent mother, Wietske Janke V [199925360] was sired by Ritse and is a "ster" Friesian mare.
    This colt is very strong, active, curious, bold, very independent, and extremely friendly. He has been regularly handled since day 1, wearing a halter since birth, leads nicely, and loves being groomed. Of all his toys, he loves his balls most of all and the bigger they are the more fun he has with them. Now Jessica has taken over his training and is continuing using natural horsemanship techniques.
